It's St. Patrick's Day
March 17, 2011
"St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time -- a day to begin transforming winter's dreams into summer's magic." This is a quotation from Adrienne Cook and it is a good suggestion to look forward . Even the non-Irish wear green and enjoy the corn beef and cabbage dinner. In San Bernardino today and tomorrow there will be a St. Patrick's Day Festival. It is a free event with bag pipers, step dancers, contests, food and beverage. It is being held on the Green next to the California Theatre of the Performing Arts, 562 W. Fourth Street in San Bernardino. Information at 909-885-5152 or http://www.theatricalarts.com/
At 8 p.m. Friday evening there will be a "Beyond Celtic" concert starring Irish tenor Michael Londra. Admission for this concert is $19-$49. Information at 909-885-5152 or http://www.californiatheatre.net/
Here is our Irish blessing to you:
"May you live a long life
Full of gladness and health,
With a pocket full of gold As the least of your wealth.
May the dreams you hold dearest, Be those which come true, The kindness you spread, Keep returning to you."
