Outdoor Theatre Abounds

When its summertime in the Inland Empire, outdorr theatre venues are in just about every community.In San Bernardino, for the 50th year, the Junior University Musical Theatre will be presenting a musical with a cast of 80 singers and dancers accompanied by a live orchestra of nearly 30 musicians. Since 1962, Junior University has been providing the opportunity for young people to perform in a professional setting. The Wizard of Oz opens this evening at the Roosevelt Bowl in Perris Hill Park, 1001 E. Highland Avenue in San Bernardino.Tickets are $10 for adults;$5 for children and $20 for a family of 6. The Redlands Bowl has begun its season with performances on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:15 p.m. Next week will be the presentation of the annual musical. This year it will be "Oliver" which will be performed Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Admission is without charge but a free will offering is collected at intermission.
Then there is the San Manual Amphitheater, 2572 Glen Helen Parkway in Devore. This Saturday at 7 p.m., Pat Benetar will be performing. Tickets are $35-$152 with VIP packages available. http://www.livenation.com/ 800-745-3000
